The Madness

Okay, so I'll admit it, I wasn't much of BYU basketball fan this year, or last year, or any year really but there's something about March Madness that totally captivates me.

I'm usually a Bruin fan and nothing can ever sever my love for them but this March my team, the Bruins, aren't in the playoffs so I gotta go with the next best thing, right? I feel kind of bad that BYU athletics has become my "next best team" and that I've never really given BYU a chance (that's a story for a different day) but I'm very happy to say that I was totally on board and very much impressed with the Cougars today. Okay, so who am I to be "impressed" by any team? Nobody. I'm just happy to be cheering for a winning team--does that make me a band-wagoner?

Anyway, this morning our office at work cleared out and had a "department meeting" for three (or so) hours to watch the game in the conference room and it was so much fun! It may be because I work in the athletic department but I'm finally starting to feel a part of and embrace my place in the the Cougar family (sorry Dad). It was so wonderful to sit among such proud and enthusiastic fans! I'm excited to see how far they go in the tournament.
