Gifts of Spring

I think its safe to say that spring has sprung around here.  At least our flower bed has.  Not to mention the pleasant 60 degree temps.

These beauties made their debut this week and we couldn't be more happy.  They truly are the best gifts of spring.  This weekend it was overcast and ironically, the dark skies seemed to make the reds and yellows more vibrant than usual.  We couldn't get enough of them.

Yesterday we spent part of the afternoon sitting on our porch admiring all of the pretty flowers that have popped up around the neighborhood these past few weeks. It was a perfect Sunday afternoon.

It was an added bonus to watch the neighbor boy learn to ride his new, two-wheeler bike, decked out in his Cars (the movie) protective gear.  Needless to say he didn't ever get the hang of it but I'm anxious to see his progress throughout the summer.

Speaking of gifts, nice weather is another one.  We never coveted warm weather until we moved to Utah and now we truly cherish it.  Yesterday it was nice enough to leave our windows and doors open for the whole day while we studied and lounged around.  

And when we weren't porch-gazing or lounging, we were picking at these heavenly cinnamon rolls.  Try them, you wont regret it. 

Mine didn't turn out looking nearly as good as the recipe depicts.
