Our Rendezvous with the California Sun

warning: this post is picture intense

This year Easter weekend was conveniently between semesters so we jumped at the chance to relax at home/spend time with family before Kevin was back to the grind (aka. spring classes).

There isn't anything I love more than getting away and going home for a few days.  I'm biased when I say this but California really is the best place to call home, especially when erratic Provo winters linger until May.

Highlights from the Weekend include:

Dinner at my cousins "underground" restaurant (more on that later):

Lunch with mamma in Huntington:

This cute little face who came in to lick our faces each morning:

The Easter pancake breakfast with the Ahlstrom clan:

 Jacuzzi games:

Easter egg hunt/auction for Easter basket goodies:

This year Char (Kevin's mom) did something a little different...since the family is increasing in number and everyone was home (with their fiances) this easter, she did the traditional easter egg hunt, but instead of filling them with jelly bellies and other small candy, she filled them with coins.  After the hunt we counted our coins and bid in an auction for would-be easter basket goodies.  It was super fun and a good alternative to making everyone individual Easter baskets.

And of course a good time with our four-legged lovies at the Dog Park:

this big mama isn't ours but she clung to me like she could've been

  1. The California sun and Ahlstrom jacuzzi look so nice right now...it rained all day here. I sympathize with your Provo weather woes.

  2. The Easter auction is genious! I would take Post-its over candy any day. And your dog is absolutely adorable!

Can't wait to hear about this underground restaurant.
