Kevin woke up early to make me a valentine's card and pancakes. He tried to make heart shaped pancakes...but only one of them actually looked like a heart. While he was in the shower I scrambled to make and hide little valentine's messages for him in places where i'd knew he'd find them throughout the day.
So after breakfast we just relaxed until the late afternoon when we made the drive to salt lake. We made plans to go to the garden restaurant...When we got there at 5:30 there wasa line of senior citizens all the way down the hall waiting to get into the restaurant. We thought we went to the wrong place...but a kind woman informed us that the restaurant had barely opened for the evening and we'd be able to eat soon. We waited and were given a table about an hour later. The food was delicious and we had a great view of the temple outside the window.
After dinner we walked down to the lobby and took some pictures in front of the flowers. They were fake, but pretty nonetheless. Kevin's favorite part of the lobby was the guy who was playing the piano. He was playing the hymns with incredible variations, seamlessly tying several hymns together with ease. He's a very nice man... he taught himself the piano when he was five.
But overall it was a very nice day for us.
Hopefully we can do more nice dates like that.
