No, not the 90's sitcom... but our own little version of it.
This past weekend our apartment became the dwelling place of the Ahlstrom klan, yes, the "k"lan. Kyle, Kenny, Keith (note the K's) and Char graced us with their presence.
They weren't here more than twenty minutes before our entire apartment was covered with clothes, shoes, socks, suitcases, video games, etc. There was never a dull moment...the weekend brought good times and bad times. The bad being that Kenny and Keith ate all of our chocolate covered pretzels. The good being that we spent good quality family time eating out ;), and playing games like spoons, Zilch (sp?), and Catch Phrase.
Well, the main reason they came was to go to General Conference. We had the opportunity to go up to Salt Lake to the conference center to attend the Sunday morning session of conference. It was amazing! Kevin didn't even fall asleep.
One special part for me was listening to "Music and the Spoken Word" by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The choir sang my favorite hymn: Called to Serve (click). I love their rendition of that hymn. I don't know why I like it...maybe because it's peppy and upbeat, or maybe because it makes me think of Kasey and Krista (Kevin's brother and sister) who are on their missions and all the other missionaries throughout the world.
When we got out of conference the dreary cloudy sky of almost a week had ceased and the sun was out and shining. It was definitely refreshing. So we stuck around and wandered temple square taking pictures. Here are a few:
