The OC Fair

We recently took our annual trip to the Orange County Fair, a night filled with farm animals, fried food, and a hypnotist show. It's something Kevin's family does every summer.

The fair has a little bit of everything... the classic rides, a sandcastle competition, everything from your typical "as seen on TV" bargains in the shopping section, (Every year Kevin's mom comes home with a new mop), fried food (from fried chicken to fried snickers bars), an art contest, and a giant ox. When we go to the fair, its for three reasons: the food, the animals, and the hypnotist.

We were starving that night and I've had a thing for chicken wings since Kevin introduced me to Wing Stop last summer. We found some delicious lemon pepper and garlic parmesan wings--probably the best wings we've ever had. Despite recommendations from Kevin's brother Kyle to try the fried Oreos, we stayed away from the other fried food. We ate pretty light the rest of the night; just a jalepeno burger and some crepes for dessert.

The farm animals were stinky, noisy, and very friendly! The sheep liked us especially.

Highlight of the night: the hypnotist. He's really popular and seating is limited. Kevin's mom got in a little tussle over some seats. She won and so we all got really good seats for the show. It was hilarious (the hypnotist, that is).
